This is an invitation to connect directly with the sun.
The video is the sun itself, photographed by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory in five wavelengths of ultraviolet light, one frame about every ten minutes. It grows longer every day as the sun keeps turning.
The audio is the solar wind: more than six decades of hourly wind-speed measurements, played as one continuous tone. Each hour of the sun becomes one sample of sound.
